Denver’s Natural Stone Sales Discusses Natural Stone Flooring For Your Kitchen Redesign, Marble Flooring Part 2

When you begin to think about redesigning to create your dream kitchen, there are many, many factors to consider. You must think about the layout, the lighting, the flooring, the type of appliances, and so much more. Thankfully Denver’s Natural Stone Sales can help you with a lot of these considerations.

In the past handful blogs, we have been focusing on all the different types of flooring for your dream kitchen. We discussed some basic considerations to think about when choosing your kitchen flooring. Of course, you want your flooring to be long lasting and durable because you want to have it for a long time. You also want it to reflect your style and overall aesthetic because it can be such a large space.

In our last blog, we moved onto discussing the next type of natural flooring for your kitchen, marble flooring. We talked about where it comes from and what it is famous for- ancient architecture and art, especially sculptures, and especially Greece and Italy (am I right?)

Denver’s Natural Stone Sales then dived into the pros of using marble in your kitchen redesign. We will continue with all of the pros in ths blog.

Pros

High Polish
Unlike many other natural stone flooring materials, marble can be polished. This polish can bring out the natural shine and color of the marble. When marble is polished it brings out a beautiful natural shine. Polishing marble also makes it very smooth. These are both desirable for kitchen floors. When marble flooring is polished to perfection it makes the floors stand out in a lovely dramatic way.

Light Transmission
We wrote earlier about marble being used in art, especially for sculptures. A big reason artist choose to use marble for their artwork is because of its translucent quality. This translucence results in the art appearing as though it is slightly glowing, a lovely effect.

When marble is used for your kitchen floors, a similar effect occurs. Depending on the type and strength of illumination (sunlight), it can penetrate the surface of the marble and make it appear as though it is slightly glowing. This usually occurs in lighter marbles, but can sometimes be seen in darker marble as well. This play of light can be quite beautiful in your kitchen.

Easy to Clean
If marble flooring is properly sealed and maintained, it can be very easy to clean. If marble is sealed is is basically resistant to liquid and other materials. This is always a bonus for any floor in the kitchen where it can get very messy and dirty. Just be sure to wipe up messes as they appear and do not wait.

As well, that translucence combined with a light color makes it easier to spot spills or messes. When you can spot these messes easier, you can clean them up quicker and more efficiently.
There are still a few more pros we need to discover in our next blog. Then we will move on to some of the cons of using marble flooring in your kitchen. For all your flooring needs check out Denver’s Natural Stone Sales.
