Denver Natural Stone Bathroom Molding Options

April 17, 2020

Molding options are often one of the last design implements to be considered when either remodeling a room or building a new construction. A forgotten detail, these intricacies can really help tie a room together and bring about a sense of completeness for any project. Instead of skipping out on molding, consider the favorable options associated with them and just how important these characteristics can be utilized to help take your interior designs to the next level.

While there is a range of popular trim styles to spiff up any space, certain moldings have more of an impact when properly used. Typically, more moldings and trim types are placed throughout living areas, bedrooms, hallways, and entrance areas but another space which can benefit from their use is the bathroom. A few popular types include baseboards, crown, chair, and even tile accent options.

Baseboards
A necessity for disguising where flooring surfaces connect up against the walls, baseboards have a wide variety of options available for homeowners to get precisely the look they want. Especially in the bathroom, these materials and the color scheme selected should take into consideration the possibility of water contact and associating these materials with a damp environment.

Crown Molding
Crown molding serves a similar purpose as baseboards but for opposite reasons- where the walls meet a ceiling. Not as common, the use of crown molding in a bathroom can help to expand the look of a particular room while also creating a unique design characteristic - perhaps to match other areas of a home and tie everything together.

Chair Molding
Chair or rail molding, of a certain size, can be used in bathrooms to either separate tile walls and floors from smooth surface drywall or allow property owners the ability to utilize two different colors with a separating barrier. Expanding from counter levels across the entire room is also a good option.

Tile Accents
Not a wooden piece of mold but a tile accent can also be incorporated into a bathroom design as a makeshift molding option. This can add a splash of color to your room, help break up existing space, or allow for a good color concept to be adapted between towels or other countertop decorative items.
